On 25 May 2021, at 12:30 pm, the Priestly Fraternity of St. Dominic of Spain gathered in the convent of Santo Domingo el Real de Madrid, founded by St. Dominic in 1218, to celebrate the eighth centenary of the birth to eternal life of the Order's founder. The Eucharist was presided over by the Prior Provincial of the Dominican Province of Hispania, Brother Jesús Díaz Sariego, OP.

The Provincial encouraged the priests to live their specific vocation in the communion of the Church through the Dominican Family, rediscovering the figure and work of St. Dominic of Caleruega. To preach and to create communities for preaching was St. Dominic's motto. By the grace of God, this branch of the Order of Preachers is growing due to the incorporation of new diocesan priests who want to take Dominic as a reference for their priestly ministry.

The Priestly Fraternity of St. Dominic of Spain, which brings together about 28 secular priests from different dioceses, stopped being able to meet more than a year ago, because of COVID-19. This Eucharist meant the resumption of the meetings, as decided by the Council of the Fraternity, taking advantage of the homage to the founder. On the same day, a meeting of the Fraternity Council was held to reactivate the normal life of the Fraternity.
