PROVINCE OF TOULOUSE | PROVINCE OF FRANCE

From the 28th to the 30th of January 2018, members of the Priestly Fraternities of St. Dominic in the Provinces of Toulouse and France met in Brussels, Belgium, for three days of fraternal encounter and formation.

Receiving the priests was the Secretary of the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Community (COMECE), fr. Olivier Poquillon, OP. They visited the European Parliament as well as the Parliamentarium Museum, which presents the history, operations and the numerous initiatives of the European institutions. They then went to the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula.

In the evening, they were hosted by the Dominican friars of the international community of the Convent of St. Dominic in Brussels, which for seventeen years has been providing Church presence that is well appreciated by many officials of the European institutions who live in the neighborhood. Also present at the convent during the gathering was the Socius of the Master for Northwestern Europe and Canada, fr. Alain Arnould, OP.

In a brief address, Fr. Serge Maucq, who organized the meeting, expressed his delight for the quality of the exchanges that resulted from the gathering, and his hope that such initiatives could be repeated in the future.
