NICARAGUA | Bishop Cesar Bosco Vivas Robelo Joins the Dominican Family in Central America

Brother Giorgio Pittalis, OP, receives the promise of Bishop Cesar Bosco Vivas with Dominican friars witnessing

On 6 October 2018, the Bishop of the Diocese of Leon, Nicaragua, Most. Rev. Cesar Bosco Vivas Robelo, made his promise in the Priestly Fraternity of St. Dominic in the Order of Preachers. His solemn promise was made before Brother Giorgio Pittalis, OP, Promoter of the Dominican priestly fraternities in the Province of St. Vincent Ferrer in Central America. The private rite was likewise witnessed by other friars of the Province. We thank God for the gift of vocation to the fraternities, which allow members of the secular clergy to become part of the Dominican family.

Bishop Robelo was born in Nicaragua on 14 November 1941 and was ordained to the priesthood on 17 May 1970. He served as auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Managua, Nicaragua from 1981 until his appointment as bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of León in Nicaragua in 1991.
