Updated: Dec 24, 2021

Rite of Admission of Msgr. Formoso in the cell of St. Dominic at the convent of Santa Sabina in Rome

For Msgr. Gary Noel S. Formoso, his trip to the Eternal City became more than just an academic exercise. His brief stay in Rome, which was organized in order for him to attend a week-long course at the Roman Rota, became also an occasion to fulfil his intention to join the Dominican family.

On 10 November 2013, Msgr. Gary was vested with the habit of St. Dominic at the very room of the founder of the Order of Preachers at the Convent of Santa Sabina. The rite was held within the Holy Mass celebrated by fr. Florentino Bolo, OP, International Coordinator of the Priestly Fraternities in the Order, with the participation of Dominican sisters working at the General Curia, as well as by some Filipino members of the Lay Fraternities of St. Dominic in Rome.

Msgr. Gary, the newest novice of the Priestly Fraternities of St. Dominic in the Philippines is the current Economus and Judicial Vicar of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He is also the former Rector of the minor seminary of the same ecclesiastical territory. He earned his Licentiate and Doctorate in Canon Law at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.
