With the recent restructuring of the Priestly Fraternities of St. Dominic in the Philippines, there was the subsequent constitution of the national council. Thus, on 20 February 2018, the elected priors of the nine local fraternities in the country gathered together at the Priory of St. Thomas Aquinas, Manila, and elected its first national president, Msgr. Gary Noel Formoso of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia, who was subsequently confirmed by the Prior Provincial on 19 March 2018. The council decided to meet annually on a date that coincides with the opening day of the homecoming of the alumni priests of the University of Santo Tomas Central Seminary in Manila. Furthermore, the council members resolved to organize an annual gathering of all the chapters, with the inaugural assembly to take place in April 16 to 18 at the Rosaryville House in Baguio City.
