PHILIPPINES | Chapter of St. Vincent Ferrer holds its 2nd Annual Gathering

Members of the Chapter of St. Vincent Ferrer open their gathering with a common prayer

On 6 June 2018, the Chapter of St. Vincent Ferrer held its second regional meeting at the city of Dumaguete in the Philippines. It was hosted by Fr. Thaddeu Quinit of the Diocese of Dumaguete, pastor of the Parish of Our Mother of Perpetual Help.


The gathering commenced in the morning with the praying of the holy rosary, which was followed by a reading of a text from Meister Eckhart, and a brief sharing from Fr. Quinit about his life and ministry in the diocese. Afterwards, the Prior of the Chapter, Fr. Simplicio Pugasan Jr. of the Archdiocese of Cebu, proceeded to preside over the business meeting. The priests enjoyed a short coffee break before the brief conference with the Promoter, Fr. Florentino Bolo Jr., OP.


After the priests enjoyed a generous serving of lunch, they went for a quick tour of the city, including a visit to the local ordinary Most Rev. Julito B. Cortes, DD. The highlight of the assembly was the rite of profession of five priests: Fr. Sherwin Ferrater (Archdiocese of Cebu); Fr. Harnell Paulin, Fr. Ryan Deposoy, Fr. Romolito Reyes, Fr. Christian Durango (Diocese of Dumaguete). It was held within the Holy Eucharist at 6:00 pm, at the parish church. The other members present were Frs. Leo Gilbero and Ruin Roy Salvo of the Diocese of Dipolog.
